Florida, 2020
We had found ourselves unfathomably, indeterminately, in Florida. When we first packed two suitcases, our eighteen-pound dog, and ourselves and hightailed it to Palm Beach, we had assumed it would be temporary. We were now playing tennis every evening at the local club. We were looking forward to going fishing. We were doing beach walks. These staunch New Yorkers had, unfathomably, indeterminately, become Floridians.
